I am a 25 year old man , and I drink everyday at least a bottle of wine , sometimes more. This has been going on for three years . In the last 3 weeks I cut down steadily to having one glass of wine . And for past four days I have replaced wine to beer . So I have drunk 1 pint of beer for past two nights and will have 1 beer a night and will stop completely on Friday 17th . I have plenty of thiamine and vitamin b and I have two beers in case I begin to withdraw severely as I have no benzodiazepines . How do you think I will fare ?Is there something else I should be aware of ?

I'm just seeking some advice.I've been a heroin addict for the past three years and have only recently found myself having a drink.I'm around 7 weeks clean from opiates but suddenly I feel the need to have a drink every other evening (around 35cl's of vodka). I keep telling myself that I'm only drinking because I haven't been able to for the past three years as it makes you withdraw a lot quicker. I don't know much about alcoholism and just wondering if what I'm doing is healthy or wether I'm on track for another addiction? The 35cl's doesn't get me pissed at all, I'm not looking to get waved (I don't think), I just enjoy the taste or maybe it could be deeper than that?I've sworn off drugs but maybe I'm just someone that needs to get high somehow? But I'm not looking to get high when I drink so why do it?Confused.Any advice appreciated, I just don't want to beat one horrific addiction only to swap it for another ya know?

I have been drinking like anywhere from 12-14 beers a night, or sometimes 1-2 bottles of wine. It started about 2 months ago but I'm hazy on the timeline, figures. Anyways, I have decided to stop drinking before it kicks my ass. How should I go about this?When I haven't had a drink all day, I get anxiety and some shaking. It isn't super intense, but it's very unpleasant. I'm worried about quitting cold turkey. How long does one usually have to drink regularly before the more serious withdrawal effects happen?

I have been a heavy drinker for around 10 years and I just can't stop on my own. I purchased some baclofen online as I cant find a doctor to prescribe it. The name on the pack is namanfen, has anyone had experience with this drug before. I have anxiety and I really want to stop drinking but I am also very scared about taking this product.

I started off taking it for ADHD but am now addicted to it. I take approximately 300mg a day. I have tried to stop or decrease the dosage but I can’t and I’ll go through any means to get it. No one knows about this addiction I have. I have covered it up very well. Despite several consequences that have occurred, I continue to take it. Can anyone help??

In the past, having been prescribed a number of different addictive medications over an extended period of time I found myself dependant and addicted. I'd like to hear more about what people think in regards to dependency and addiction. Do they always go hand in hand? There is some brain chemistry change from what I understand? Thoughts?

To say the very least, his flippant attitude and dismissive comments means he is NOT my new doctor(this was just one of many) and I am already calling for a second opinion as my previous neuro disagrees with pretty much everything he said(looking for dr because of move, loved my old neuro)So I am curious, those of you that have had them, are they really painful? How painful, compared to epidural shots(which to me are mildly uncomfortable, minus one very painful one years ago)Also, did it yield useful Info for you?

I’ll try to make this as quick as I can. I’m 25 going on 26 years old and I have had a disc problem for almost 6 years now. It started getting really bad over the summer of 2017. Before summer it was pretty bad as well but I didn’t have sciatica or other weird crippling pain’s. It’s completely taken over my life and has made it difficult to even lay down at night, cough, sneeze and even take a dump. I thought that maybe if I took it easy it would heal itself or if I tried working out my core it would help as well. I’ve already had one epidural injection but I wasn’t really too fond of physical therapy. Only because I’ve always been pretty active to start with considering I am only 25. I’m worried about losing my job, my money, my home and my freedom. I don’t know if I should just get another epidural injection and take physical therapy a little more serious, burn my nerves, or just have straight up surgery. Since this is been an ongoing issue and it’s only been getting worse even with a little activity I figure things like epidural injections or physical therapy can only do so much. Maybe surgery would be the better option for completely fixing the issue. Then again I don’t know if it’s going to help for the long run so my question to everyone is what should I do? If I get surgery I feel like I could Bounce back because of my young age. On the other hand an epidural injection with PT could potentially help as well. What can I do to permanently get rid of this problem and go on with my life?

Hi everyone, I have a question about addiction, and how mindfulness can help someone to relieve themselves of it. I have just started sitting, so I dont have any experience. From the little I know so far, being mindful will help give me a choice, it will make me aware of what I'm doing. But I guess my question is, how do I make the right choice, even when I know my life is on the line? I seem to make the wrong choice, even though I know it's wrong. After reading this post to myself it sounds silly but can mindfulness help me somehow??
